About Resilient Foster Care
Resilient Foster Care was established in 2017 and is owned and managed by Hannah Rogers and Nigel Fenlon and based in Abercynon, Rhondda Cynon Taff. We entered into this venture after having over fifty years’ experience between us in Local Authority Children’s Services and independent fostering agencies.This experience has taught us, among other things, that fostering –
- is most successful when those involved are committed to teamwork and ensuring the best outcomes for young people.
- can be very challenging at times and the resilience, commitment and communication of everyone involved is key.
Our commitment to everyone that joins with us is that they will never be left on their own to face a difficult or testing situation.
It will also be important to us that everyone feels a true sense of belonging to the agency.
We do not envisage growing to a size whereby we do not have a face-to-face involvement and know all the Foster Carers and young people placed with them.
We also have not embarked on this venture as a money-making enterprise. Our motivation is in developing an environment that is beneficial to young people and we will put this at the heart of everything we do. Future investment will be in further developing the service and support we offer.
